Menachem "Mendel" Chazanow

CEO

Founder and owner Mendel has successfully renovated and re-tenanted over 2,000 units in primary markets. Mendel got his start by seizing an opportunity to source and renovate distressed residential properties in core markets during the subprime crisis, partnering with investment firms that specialize in distressed multifamily properties in New York. He then formed Diamond in the metro Atlanta area, where he actively grew the portfolio to more than 1,000 units with a market value of $120 million. Along with his Atlanta projects, Mendel is also working on expanding to New York properties, and is focused on creating beautiful, safe housing at an affordable cost.

Meir "Max" New

COO

Max always had a natural knack for numbers, and his accounting background has been a tremendous asset as he's transitioned to property management. As one of the founding members of Diamond National Investments, Max quickly demonstrated his skills at achieving profitability, overseeing the construction and re-tenanting 48 percent of his first Diamond property. Max also successfully negotiated rental contracts for 20 percent above market rate, continuing to apply these strategies to his next projects. With his strategic partnerships, Max continues creating safe, beautiful communities. As an Atlanta native, Max and his wife enjoy sports and traveling. 

Zalman Bernstein

VP of Acquisitions

Zalman got his start in property management in 2014 by managing several multi-family rent-stabilized units in New York. His experience working with New York’s Division of Housing and Community Renewal and the New York Housing Preservation & Development proved invaluable. While managing over 20 New York properties, Zalman gained experience and knowledge in all aspects of multi-family property management, and his attention to detail and thoroughness made his transition to real estate contracts a natural one. During Zalman's time at Diamond National Investments, he has successfully overseen $100 million in loans; he currently oversees a department that services more than $60 million in debt. In his free time, Zalman enjoys reading and listening to live music.

Olga Bolton

Controller   

As Controller, Olga oversees all accounting and corporate support activities. With over 15 years of experience in the accounting field, she's responsible for month-end and year-end close procedures, budget forecasting, and managing cash flows, and her primary focus is on providing reliable estimates and accurate financials. Her attention to strong internal controls, timely financial reporting, and reliable forecasting are critical components for the success and ongoing growth of Diamond National Investments.

Svetlana Nikolov

Staff Accountant

As a staff accountant, Svetlana has been instrumental in establishing accounting policies and procedures and cash management programs, along with evaluating whether property operations are in compliance with company policy. Although she started in Diamond's Accounts Payable department, Svetlana quickly moved up to a staff accountant role in just six months. Svetlana enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, and drinking hot coffee.

Ja'Lisa Johnson

Account Payment Specialist

Before joining Diamond in 2021, Ja'Lisa spent over 10 years in the accounting field, where she accumulated multiple tax, payroll, and bookkeeping certifications. Her attention to detail ensures that Diamond's finances and accounting records are flawless. In Ja'Lisa's free time, you might find her relaxing on a beach! 

German Sierra

Digital Marketing Designer  

German is responsible for the leadership and growth of our in-house marketing at Diamond. Over his time with Diamond, he's worked on everything from lease management to assistant property manager, getting to know our product while improving Diamond's image and brand. German helps bring synergy to our marketing, pricing, and sales disciplines while driving strategies that improve overall results in lead generation, leasing, renewals, and resident satisfaction. He also analyzes marketing, operational data, and resident experiences to design and implement actions that enhance our marketing effectiveness and drive revenue. During his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, CrossFit, and exercising with his Australian Shepherd, Cosmo. 

Daniella Ouanounou

Administrator of Corporate Operations

Daniella boasts 18 years of industry experience and speaks an impressive four languages! This breadth of experience helps her ensure that Diamond's team members have the tools to navigate and provide effective service to our clients and customers. Daniella's favorite pastime is cheering on her sons in basketball.  

Sara New

Business Manager

Sara New, wife of Max New has been with the company since its beginning, growing and learning from different areas & roles in the company, Sara currently Manages the Single-Family rental Division in High-End neighborhoods The homes in these neighborhoods have been appreciated at a rate of 7% annually. Sara has grown to have experience in Construction Management, Interior Design & as Realtor.

Regional Manager

Mendel provides executive-level support and oversight of institutional performance for some of Diamond's largest portfolios throughout the U.S. As a liaison, Mendel works closely with key partners and regional teams to ensure they receive the highest level of service and support across Diamond’s management platform. He's responsible for planning and implementing management best practices, monitoring new development leasing, and value enhancement programs. Mendel’s ability to provide vision and support collaboration across the management platform is instrumental to Diamond’s partnership success. Mendel and his wife recently moved to Atlanta with their child, whom they proudly describe as "wonderful"!
